| Kit was purchased at Pacific Fabrics/Issaquah; 05/08, mainly because it was on a closeout at 50% off. Directions are horrible. Colors in photo with kit are terrible. Kit was put together on a shoestring and very lacking. This Dick and Jane quilt was design by Marian Adcox and suggested for "imtermediate quilters." Kit did not include Dimples red 1st border fabric; had to buy additional 2 yds.@$9.99 from Fabric Depot/Portland; 11/05/08. The measurements in the kit had to be totally reworked on Roxanne Carter, my quilting instructor. While I was making it, even additional modi-fications had to be made. Completing this pattern, which appears to be so simple, was a trying experience and one I would never recommend to anyone, most especially a quilter! I am glad it is over! | This
project required patience and perseverence as few quilts I've tackled have
required. When the panels were designed, they were not the same heighth
and width. The large pictorial panels required very intricate sizing before
one could achieve uniformity on all panels. As with most kits, the yardage
is calculated so tightly that one absolutely cannot cut until refiguring
everything several times. |
