This quilt is dedicated to the memory of my late mother, Grace Phyllis Cain Gergely, who perished in a tornado (Indiana) in 1942. The photo shows us together three-four months prior to her decease. (I was six.) These fabrics are indicative of those popular in the 1930's/1940's (note design in her dress, the curtains, and cannisters). |
