Marion Peter Young

Marion was a member of North High's class of June, 1940. During high school, Marion was a member of North's basketball team. http://ndmhs.com/pages/yearclass1940(1990.50).html
He was a Private First Class with the US Marine Corps. His next of kin was his mother, Mrs. Mildred D. Young, who lived at 1111 East 7th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. He was aboard ship when killed. Marion was buried in the Punchbowl Cemetery in Hawaii, but his remains were returned and buried at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. His age was listed as 22 at the time of burial. At Glendale, his remains are in Block 34; Section A, #212.
