T. CAMPION 70. Passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the home of his
daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Glen Rivers in Winter Park, Florida. He
is survived by Ginger, his loving wife of 47 years; his sister, Shirley Peterson
from Des Moines, Iowa, Kris and Glen Rivers and their four children Jeremiah,
Callie, Austin and Spencer; his son and daughter-in-law Tom and Karen and their
daughter Kayla from Charlotte, North Carolina; his son and daughter-in-law John
and Sharon Erwin and their daughters Emma and Shannon from Racine, and his son
and daughter in law Rob and Laura (Aguilar) and their sons Bryan and Eli from
Brookfield, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Luella
and William Campion and his in-laws Myrtis and Claire Stallman. Bill is fondly
remembered by special friends Bill Groth, Steve Stewart, Tom Nevers, Tom Curtis,
Bettye Rivers, Mary Weinfurter and Mary Pat Siewert. Born on February 26,
1936 in Des Moines, Iowa, he graduated from the University of Iowa where he met
the love of his life, Ginger and fostered his life-long enthusiasm for the Iowa
Hawkeyes. He received an M.S. Degree in Physical Therapy from Iowa. His career
in Physical Therapy spanned over 40 years and included several highly successful
business creations spawned by his entrepreneurial spirit and a love and passion
for his profession. Bill was a pioneer in the areas of PT private practice and
contract services, but never strayed far from his love of patient care. Bill loved
to be outside, enjoying years of family vacations at the cottage and at the beach.
Music was a source of great joy in his life as were his beloved pets. Through
his passion for golf, he met and treasured the friendship of his many golfing
buddies. Ultimately, what brought him the greatest satisfaction was spending time
with his family. Whether playing countless games of basketball or attending numerous
activities with his grandkids, Bill was always happiest when he was with his family. Throughout
his journey, Bill taught us the meaning of courage as he bore his burden of cancer
with grace, humor and dignity. He refused to see himself as a cancer victim and
continued to travel and live life to the fullest. Visitation at the Funeral
Home on Monday, March 27 from 4 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Elmbrook Humane Society or
a charity of your choice appreciated. Sympathy Expressions & Directions.
