Beverly Ann (Gabriel) Whipple
1934 - 2021
Des Moines - Beverly Whipple, 86, passed away on Sunday, January
3, 2021.
Bev was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 16, 1934, to Raffaele and
Caterina Gabriel (proceeded in death). Bev attended St. John's Catholic
Grade School and North High School. She retired from AT&T as
a long distance operator in 1993.
Bev met her husband Arthur Whipple Jr. in the 7th grade and they
were married in 1955. They had 62 wonderful years of marriage raising
7 children, the last three being triplets.
Bev was devoted to her Catholic faith, the rosary, all her best
friends and family. Once you met Bev she introduced you as her best
friend. Bev had a special love for Dowling Catholic sports, especially
the football coaches, staff, teams and was a Chicago Cubs and Bears
fan.
Bev was proceeded in death by her husband Art, brothers Gotto,
Martin, Robert and Rocky Gabriel, sisters Mary Marturello, Theresa
Coppi, Frances Chido and Rose Juliano.
Bev is survived by daughters, Dawn Evans, Denise (Tim) Eoriatti,
DeAnn Mauro, Desiree (Andy) Ingham, Debbie Whipple (Shawn Seamonds);
sons, Dan (Mary Jo) Whipple and Dino (Leigh Ann) Whipple; 14 grandchildren
and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Basilica of St. John
or St. Theresa Church, Des Moines, Iowa or Dowling Catholic Athletic's.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
