Krill, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, April 21, at Harbor House Hospice in
Las Vegas, Nevada. Her body has been cremated and memorial services will be held
1 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2006 at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman
Road in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation, with
the family present, will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Mary
was born March 20, 1935 in Des Moines to Donald and Imogene Wade Tschantz. She
graduated from North High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Gary Hanify
in 1954 and one daughter was born. Gary was killed in an Air Force plane crash
and Mary married John L. Krill in December 1961, with one son born to them in
1964. Mary was an Air Force wife until retirement in 1977. She was a Teacher's
Aid in Redlands, California for five years and then resumed her major role as
a homemaker. Mary and husband, John regularly attend Green Valley Presbyterian
Church in Henderson, Nevada. Mary is survived by John, her husband of 44
years; daughter Karen Krill (Scott) Dangermond of Salem, Oregon; son, John F.
"Chip" (Pam) Krill of Las Vegas, Nevada; one granddaughter, Lisa Dangermond
of Portland, Oregon; one grandson, Zachary A. Krill of Las Vegas, Nevada; two
brothers, Don (Orlene) Tschantz of Fremont, California and John (Pat) Tschantz
of Urbandale, Iowa; two sisters, Jean (Darrell) Hibbs of Panora, Iowa and Pam
(Frank) Tate of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter,
Paula, her parents and stepmother, Harriet C. Tschantz. The family requests
that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society for Brain Tumor
Research.
