We are saddened to report the death of Jack Bujalski,
Company G-2, in San Antonio, Texas, on June 4, 2024.
"My soul fleeth unto the Lord before the morning watch;
I say, before the morning watch"
Psalm 130, The West Point Prayer Book"
We were informed of Jack's loss by his wife, Rachel, through Lee
Fay, Company G-2 CCQ. Lee will continue to represent our Class in
support of Rachel and the family, and will keep us informed of later
plans for interment at West Point. Jack and Rachel Dhuyvetter were
married in the Cadet Catholic Chapel June 5th, the day after our
graduation. They will be interred together at West Point beside
Jack's brother David, Class of 64, and Rachel has requested flowers
in memory at that future time.
Jack joined our many classmates commissioning into the Air Force,
wishing to climb into the wild blue yonder in a great iron bird.
And fly he did, fighters and other planes, until the USAF required
to cut the level of proficiency flying in 1975. Okinawa early-on,
fighter support in Vietnam, and other assignments assured the new
family all of the mystic and wonders that a career in the Air Force
could provide. Along the way he gained an MS in Mathematics, teaching
also at the USAFA. He continued to provide senior leadership and
experience through a full thirty-year career. A senior Pentagon
tour with Headquarters, USAF, assured he was properly vetted; but
Jack notes their most satisfying and enjoyable posting was their
final assignment, in Iceland where Jack served as Deputy Commander
in conjunction with Iceland's Defense Force.
Upon retirement and moving to Air Force Village II in San Antonio,
they decided to travel freely wherever they wished, making up for
the tie-downs required while on active duty. Thus, they visited
all 48 States, drove to Alaska and back, and ventured off to overseas
locations as 'free as the birds'. Family, friends and community
provided the rich blessings in retirement years.
Cards and letters may be sent to:

Eternal Father, lend thy grace, to all with wings who fly through
space,
Through wind and storms, through sun and rain,
Oh, bring them safely home again.
To thee we cry our silent prayer, to all in peril in the air.
The Class joins now in prayers and condolences for Rachel, for their
children, Shawn, Blaine and Rochelle, for their families and friends,
and for fellow classmates in Company G-2.
May it be said, "Well done, Be thou at peace...."
