boarding school, for 20 years. |
Fondest Memories of High
School:
My memories are happy. My fondest memories are of my girl friends. Several
of us are lifetime friends and have kept in close contact for these
past 60 years. We had such silly, crazy fun, the dances at the Jewish,
all the sport activities and, of course, Reeds Ice Cream afterward.
|
Comments (since graduation):
We were very fortunate to attend North High when we did. Truly, "Those
were the days, my friends."Life was good. The war was over and
life was generally good to all of us. We had so much to look forward
to. Most of our hopes and dreams were attainable. It was a time of innocence
and we eagerly looked to the future. |
Most significant happening
in my life?
Marrying Fritz was the most significant happening in my life. We've
had a wonderful marriage. We have raised four terrific children, all
college graduates, of whom we are very proud, and we have nine grand
children who are our greatest blessings. |

Fifty years: in a short space?
"It's impossible." I've been with the love of my life 50 years.
We've worked hard, raised four great girls, have nine grandkids (not
a homely one in the bunch). Still in the country and have forgotten
about that condo. We've traveled some, but now spend lots of our leisure
time swinging on the porch enjoying the scenery. It takes lots of energy
keeping things up, or trying to! Still involved in church and looking
forward to our heavenly home someday (Hope to CU there). The way this
old world is, it can't be long, huh? Life was so uncomplicated 50 years
ago-we didn't realize it then. Thru it all, God has blessed us so abundantly,
and we praise His Holy Name for the great 50 years and however many
more we may have. We've come far...all of us! |

Hello Beverly, (Gabriel/Whipple)
I received the letter and the agenda for this year's North High School
reunion. It was really great to hear from you.
I doubt that Pat and I will be able to attend. Our grandson graduates
from Des Moines Lincoln (he was the starting center on the football
team last fall), and we will be in town for his graduation which is
the last week of May. After that I have to be in Denver by June 17th
for the rest of the summer; that is, if things don't get too hairy with
the Quest situation. The V.P. and three of the directors that I gave
revenue figures to on a regular basis are being investigated, and I'm
afraid I may be next.
Anyway, I have about 75 graduation photos (billfolds) from our classmates
of 1953 that I have saved for the past 50 years, and I was wondering
if you would like to borrow them to make a collage for the alumni to
view at one of your scheduled gatherings. Just an idea. When we held
the President's Circle of Excellence at USWest, I would take photos
at all the activities of the previous day/night, and then rush to get
special 1-hour photo service, so I could stay up all night making these
fabulous collages on foamcore board for the attendees to view at the
next morning's brunch. They loved them and would stand around the six
or seven easels for 10-15 minutes looking at all the pics. So if you
are interested, just let me know.
I think you do a great job putting the reunion 'together', and I know
and can appreciate how much effort you put into it.
Hope you have a GREAT REUNION!!!
Regards, Jim Lang
04/09/09: Jim and Patricia moved to Corpus Christi, TX in 1997. Jim

Fondest Memories of High
School:
High school provided fun times. Attending football games on Friday nights
was great fun and then stopping by big Reed's afterwards. Slumber parties
were a loss of a night's sleep, but worth it. Pal's Club provided the
opportunity to be with some very nice gals. |
Comments (since graduation):
The friendliness from North gave us a good foundation no matter where
our careers took us. |
Most significant happening
in my life?
Being happily married to a good guy for 53 years provided a foundation
for a happy life. Raising three children wasn't always easy, but it's
nice to reap the rewards now. |
